That Damned Frenchman
Larry Dennit angrily paced the floor. He was losing, had lost everything. His racing team was falling apart, his star racer had failed him for the first time, his wife didn't respect him, all three of his cars had been wrecked, and his potential investors had decided to place their money somewhere else. Though the circumstances leading to all these tragedies stemmed from different sources, Dennit laid the blame on one man. His name was Ricky Bobby.
That man had been nothing but trouble since the moment he had joined the team. Dennit had tried to tell his father that, but as per usual, his father hadn't listened. Dennit had intended not t

Ricky Bobby eased his chair onto its hind legs as he relaxed comfortably at his desk. The teacher at the front of the room was writing some number problem out on the board with great attention to detail, but Ricky just settled further back in his seat and was prepared to go to sleep when he felt someone prodding his elbow.
It was Cal. "Ricky," Cal paused and waited to see if his best friend would respond. "Ricky?" Ricky lifted one eyelid to show he was awake and listening. "Are you gonna race tonight?"
Instead of responding directly to Cal, Ricky opened his other eye and glanced over at Carley. She grinned lecherously back at him a
Ricky shifted uncomfortably. He was having second thoughts about his decision to let Jean do this. Jean looked too confident, too superior. It was making Ricky nervous.
The Frenchman was circling, planning his movements like a six foot three vulture deciding how best to attack its prey. Ricky Bobby blushed slightly when he admitted to himself how confidently sexy the smug grin which had spread across Jean's wide mouth looked. "So, are you just gonna watch me or are you gonna do something?" Ricky shouted. He hadn't meant to sound as irate as he had, but his precarious emotional state was making him testy.
Jean's grin only widened,

Ricky was warm beside him. His muscular arm was draped lovingly across Jean's stomach. The weight was familiar and welcome. Jean's thoughts became more clouded as his mind drifted off into peaceful slumber, and he began comparing the weight of Ricky's arm to the weight of a child were he pregnant with Ricky's baby.
There was no denying that if modern science found a way, he would want nothing more than to combine his and Ricky's traits into one glorious being.
He shifted gently as he pondered what that child would be like.
It was easiest to picture a son. His hair a sandy shade of yellow and his eyes would be a deep brown.

"You gonna open those?" The mail had been sitting on the counter for three hours and Carley had yet to even look at it. Cal rolled his eyes and slid the pile of mail closer to him. It had taken him six months, but he had finally realized how useless his wife was. She was hot as hell… but outside of the bedroom she was no use to anyone… and she wasn't very nice. And come to think of it she would probably be better in the bedroom if she didn't drink herself into unconsciousness every time they planned to have sex.
He lifted the first three letters off the pile. There was a much larger and much more ornate envelope underneath. It was

*Authors note [please read]:
This story is a fanfiction of Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. It DOES contain slash referances... of course... to the always adorable Ricky and Jean. If you can't stomach that... mild as the referances are... then I suggest you locate the nearest back button. With that said... onto the basics!
The story shifts between Jean and Ricky's viewpoints, and so you will be reading things twice… first from the viewpoint of Ricky, and then from the Viewpoint of Jean. I'm sorry if that is confusing, but it is the style I use EVERY TIME a story with two characters is written, and so I hope it is not too much of
He couldn't sleep again. The full moon shone brightly through the open window, but it wasn't the light that was keeping Jean Girard from the refuge of sleep. He was distracted.
Jean slid as silently as he could off of the bed so as not to wake Gregory. He walked to the open window and looked out at the empty streets of the midnight hour. It was such a lonely time, and it fit Jean's mood completely. It wasn't that he was physically alone, he had Gregory, but Jean continually felt alienated no matter what company surrounded him. His mind was always elsewhere and it was beginning to try Gregory's normally content disposition.
